It’s difficult to get a decent shot when you are pressed together like sardines on the deck of a small canal boat. However I offer up this one of a friend taking a snap with her phone.

I would like to welcome our newest guest contributor Petter Rustad. I hope you enjoy his work.
My name is Petter and I’m from Norway. I grew up in a small town in the eastern part of the country, but now I live just outside the capital Oslo. I’m a self-taught photographer and my photos range from street to landscape, but I must say that street and documentary are the genres closest to my heart. I think that my love for black and white photography is close connected to the genres I like the most. I heard someone say that shooting in colours is like juggling with five balls, and black and white is like juggling with three. I’m not sure if that is true, but right now I think I am better with three balls than five. That said, I’ve been shooting more colours the last months than ever before. My WordPress site Mittened Hands contains only black and white photos as well does my Instagram account. If you want to know the background for the name – have a look at my about page. Hope you enjoy my photos.
