Witnessing the birth of my first granddaughter was one of the most amazing events of my life. I had three weeks with them and had fun photographing the birth and then the first ten days of her life. This was a sweet moment between new father and daughter

Advice To Younger Self Project

The is Garrett, age 57. I photographed him on the streets of New York.  When asked what one piece of advice you would give to your younger self, he replied,
” Be less distracted and more focused on things that are really important.”

Pride

Trump Tower in New York has become a tourist attraction, surrounded by NYPD.  This gentleman, a doorman for Trump Tower, stepped away from the door and posed for me.

No political discussion here, just a portrait of a man that seems to take pride in his job.

ADVICE TO YOUNGER SELF

I have started a new project where I ask the subject one question, “If you could meet your younger self, what one piece of advice would you give to him/her?”  These men were in front of the Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. All three answered the same way, “Don’t drink or take drugs”.  Then I took their picture.

In street photography, we don’t wait for golden light. Mid-day will present a different set of circumstances. I love street portraits. I saw this girl on a NYC bench and she caught my attention.  She smiles with her eyes, the shadow play from her lashes, one of my favorite street portraits.
