Ready for winter. When the owners of this beach hut shut their doors for the winter they didn’t just lock-up and, go home. They added some decoration. I really like that.

This house is on the local beach near where my sister lives on the south coast of England. It was a dull and very overcast day with sporadic rain, and lots of wind. I’ve said before that I’m not too good at landscapes but at least I haven’t given up trying to improve ;0)

That’s not me . It’s a shot I took 4 years ago in Martinique in February. It was minus 20 degrees C in Norway at the time. That 10 days in the sun was really worth the effort.
Which reminds me that my annual holidays are coming up so I’ll see you all in September.
I hope you have had,are having or,will soon be having some time off.
See you all on the other side 😉

This guy was the real deal I think. Tricky lighting full sunshine on a white tent background but I like the face.

I have a confession to make. As I wrote last week I was going to the Bi-annual Viking market at a local town. However the weather beat us back even before we got half-way. The heavens opened and, we had torrential rain. So we beat the retreat and will try again in two years time. Until then this is a shot I took 4 years ago at the same event. Vikings waiting to go into battle …once health and safety checked that the grass wasn’t too wet :0)

Living in Norway as I do there aren’t many days go by without some hint to the Vikings and Norwegian heritage. When you read this I will have hopefully attended the bi-annual Viking market in a local town. This fellow sold smoked salts of all kind.

Anyone that purposely runs into a burning building to make a living is a hero in my book. This wonderful Firefighters memorial stands not far from the Egg in Albany NY. What a great way to remember what these men and women do for us each and every day.

A bit late but for those that don’t know, the17th of May is Norway’s national Day. It’s a big kids party with street parades and marching bands and lots of flag waving. Many wear their national costume like this lady.

I was on a Business trip to Albany NY this week. I got 15 mins between meetings to run around and take some snaps. My hotel was very near the Egg which is a concert hall I believe. It looks like a UFO from all angles . I like the contrasts in this shot. The curve of the Egg and the striaight edges of the other buildings
