…was the answer I got when I asked what was going on and by the look of it I wasn’t the only one wondering the same thing.

I was in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to visit the famine memorial. It’s a series of statues depicting poor unfortunates wandering along the banks of the river Liffey looking for food or hope. I added a tint for a little more drama
You can read more about the memorial here

First off, I don’t really know if the person I was sitting next to down the café was a courier or just out for a ride. Still I took this shot on the sly.

Last weekend I was with friends in Dublin. I took this when we were with a guide in Phoenix Park. All the people in this shot I know. But take a moment…I know what’s going on, you don’t there’s a story here…I’m not telling. I’ll just say it wasn’t staged. I just shot into the sun. When I got the shot onto the Mac at home it was one of those shots you overlook at first but this has grown on me for a week now. The lens flare is very pronounced but in this shot I thinks adds a certain something…and those face’s

This fine gentleman was a guide at Schwerin Castle in Germany. He didn’t guide us but was waiting to go on duty. I just happened to pass by while he stood there. Obviously used to tourists taking pictures.

This looks like a very simple everyday shot. The significance lies in where it was taken. It’s just a padlock on a bit of exposed rebar. This just happens to be the Berlin Wall. Let’s not build walls anymore.

You’d be forgiven if you thought this shot was taken in Holland. However this shot was taken in Germany at Castle Sans Souci which I visited during a weeks stay in Germany I had this year.

For this weeks contribution I thought I’d leave my holiday shots and share with you a very fresh picture I took last Thursday. I took it while attending a whisky tasting hosted by the Caledonian Society of Norway. This is a shot of the lecture holder Prof. Robertson Wellen. I asked him to stand by the window as the room was a little on the dark side before the event. I’m pleased with the result so I thought I’d share it with you all…..by the time you read this I should have sobered up. Have a great weekend.
