Thanks, Joe.
Indeed, abandoned places have their very special charme. I also love them. But, usually you have to intrude such a property, because it’s locked away from the public for security reasons and I’m not an intruder. Firstly, it’s illegal, and secondly such places usually/often are not safe anymore and I don’t like playing russian roulette. Too many people each year have an accident when entering such places. Some of them even lost their health, if not their lives.
This entrance used to be the main entrace to a sports arena, that was closed for many years, but no fence was blocking me out.
I even asked the owner for permission, but he denied because of the insurance issue. From earlier this year, the whole building got removed completely and in the near future an appartment block with more than 120 appartments will be build instead.
I agree with what you said Andre. Most old abandoned structures have asbestos in them and it is unsafe for people to enter them. The same thing is happening in our country. Old abandoned places are being knocked down and new luxury housing is being built.
each coin has two sides. removing unusable buildings and replacing them with useful ones is fine. but, replacing affordable apartments with luxus appartments is not ok. That also happens quite frequently here.
Outstanding image Andre 👍🏻 These are my kind of places to photograph.
