Our heat dome ended last weekend after 11 days of ~40°C. This morning, the thermometer showed only 11°C. Although it became around 24°C max today, it’s not warm enough to sit outside in the evening. The moisture crawls in the clothes and it becomes quite uncomfortable. I loved the past two weeks more (I have to admit, mid 30s is enough. 40+ isn’t necessary).
You know, air conditions are very uncommon here in private homes. Only banks and supermarkets have them. Even in offices it’s not common everywhere and in public transportation only for long distance trains.
I would give anything for a 75 degree fahrenheit day right now 🥵. Hopefully today is the last unbearable heat. Its supposed to reach 97 degrees peak temperature today with a “feels like” temperature of 103 on Long Island.
You‘re about 1100km south of my town. It’s not an excuse, but compared to America, I‘m in the middle of Canada. So, common temperatures for NY are much higher than further north. But, you’re absolutely right, that’s way too hot. Even when having air conditioning.
