Found this well preserved 19th century log cabin on the backroads in the northwestern Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

What a find, Sam. Nice textures and tones.

Thank’s Jane, hope you’re doing well! The second floor exterior is a example of the first use of siding. In this instance, it’s thin cut ruff heun siding, soon followed by use of 4″ x 12′ siding placed on log cabin facades.

Excellent image Sam 👍🏻 I love the different type of siding on the second level. Homesteading at its best using whatever materials one had on hand.
