
May in Wisconsin is synonymous with a massive Mayfly emergence. They were EVERYWHERE! Folks ran from car to building, flapping arms and hands the whole way. When taking this photo, I was focused on the dock, and had no idea how many insects were in the image until I got home.

I grew up along the Mississippi, always emerged around July 4. Oh the smell!
