Not all the treasures in the Louvre Museum in Paris are sculptures or paintings or jewels. This scene — an alcoved archway framing the famous Louvre Pyramid (and one of the three smaller pyramids in the main courtyard) against the backdrop of the palace’s Richelieu Wing — took my breath away. C’est magnifique!

For some reason I am not getting notified of new posts on Monochromia. What’s with that?
This shot is gorgeous. I never liked the glass pyramid so this is probably the best possible angle for my likes! Good job! 🙂

Emilio sometimes it happens and you just stop getting notifications. Just unfollow and follow again and that should work 🙂

Thanks for that, Emilio! I was really surprised how much I was okay with it (which may have had everything to do with the photographic opportunities the pyramids presented!)

The way you framed the shot is great, but I find myself completely envious of you having been there!
Isn’t envy a sin? 🙂

Aww, sin away, Laurie. Where Paris is concerned, I understand completely 🙂 Truly, it’s my most favorite place I’ve visited! I hope you are able to get there some day.

Beautiful Stacy… I love your perspective. I haven’t been there when the gates have been shut or when I didn’t have people in the way (did I say that!!) so this shot was so refreshing.. I was obviously off in some bar or something…. thanks for taking me back. 🙂

I remember that original photo. I think it was the first time I visited MM. Truly a classic.

Thanks, Robin! I had actually forgotten that I had submitted it to MM, so I had to go back and check. Turns out, it was my first submission 😀 And therefore, it’s the image that got me started in black and white. Fun fact for me to realize!
