Pyramide du Louvre

Black And White Photography, Photography

Louvre Pyramid viewed through an alcoved archway.

Not all the treasures in the Louvre Museum in Paris are sculptures or paintings or jewels. This scene — an alcoved archway framing the famous Louvre Pyramid  (and one of the three smaller pyramids in the main courtyard) against the backdrop of the palace’s Richelieu Wing — took my breath away. C’est magnifique!

For some reason I am not getting notified of new posts on Monochromia. What’s with that?
This shot is gorgeous. I never liked the glass pyramid so this is probably the best possible angle for my likes! Good job! 🙂

What a unique shot of the Louvre Stacy! Magnificent architecture, I’ve visited once but I’d like to go back there. So much wonderful art to explore.

Beautiful Stacy… I love your perspective. I haven’t been there when the gates have been shut or when I didn’t have people in the way (did I say that!!) so this shot was so refreshing.. I was obviously off in some bar or something…. thanks for taking me back. 🙂

Thanks, Robin! I had actually forgotten that I had submitted it to MM, so I had to go back and check. Turns out, it was my first submission 😀 And therefore, it’s the image that got me started in black and white. Fun fact for me to realize!
