Just left where it was last used

Still in Coal mine #3 this time in the workshop. This looked like the workshop diary or workbook. The page was open at 10.10.1995. Everything just left where it was last used.

Miners Boots Coal Mine #3 Spitsbergen

One of the things we did while on Svalbard was visit Coal Mine #3. It was in operation from 1971 until 1996. The working height was only 60-90cms Take a tape measure and see for yourselves how small that is,then imagine an 8 hour shift laying on your side.. When the mine closed in November of 1996 all the equipment was left in place. The guide told us that the word came down about the closure half way through a shift so a lot of tools and other equipment was just left as it was. A fascinating few hours well worth getting a little dirt on the camera bag.

Music with a view

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

20190814-untitled shoot-300-Edit-Edit

This shot was taken the farthest north I have even been. Svalbard. This was the view from the abandoned music room at Pyramiden. This was only recently abandoned in the 90’s. 5 Russians live there to take care of the tourists that come. If they didn’t live there the territory would revert to the Norwegian state. The Russians have started to hotel…I wonder how that’s doing now?

…kind of continuing a theme from the picture last week, this poor Bug has no doubt been loved at some point in its life, but now rots in peace at this old abandoned Junk yard in Sweden. It was not alone and this is just one from a rotting traffic jam.

Another shot from the archive in these Covid-19 days. I’m afraid that my photography has taken a backseat at the moment even with a new camera to play with. Anyway I hope you are all still well and seeing at least some light at the end of the tunnel.

Until next week then…

…yet another burst beetle

Yet another VM beetle at the graveyard in Sweden. In fact there was a long line of them forming some sort of rusty traffic jam.
I hope you guys are keeping safe and well. Here in Norway things are about to loosen up a little. Normal is still way off.

Tender Loving Care is what we all are looking for these days.

I don’t know how else I would describe these surreal days and weeks we are experiencing at the moment. I just know that this too shall pass.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well…

Another shot taken on a table top during self-isolation. I used my wristwatch again and was thinking product-shoot. As you may have noticed the secondhand is in motion. I’m glad my friend let me borrow his Macro lens before Covid -19 raised it’s ugly head.
Stay safe and well my friends.
