Another shot from my trip to Yorkshire last year. This magnificent beast pulled us from Whitby to Pickering.

The same house as last week just from a different angle.

I took this whilst I was on holiday in Yorkshire last year I just knew that the stonework would look great in black and white.

Another shot from Svalbard I loved the way the early snow had settled on the mountains. The houses give the whole picture a scale

Yet another Svalbard landscape. Which shows that I do try to flex my landscape muscles occasionally.I just love the snow cover on the mountains and the remoteness. One day I’m going back.

This is one from August last year. Taken while I was visiting Svalbard. I never have much success with landscapes However, I like how this one looked and have decided to share it with you. It was taken while standing on the tarmac of the airport runway. So real deep thought went into it was just a trail run so to speak.

One of my favourite places in Norway is the village of Lærdal in the West Country. A lot of the village burnt down a few years ago. Luckily., if you can call it that, it was mostly the modern area that suffered.

I don’t know about you, but I often take a picture that I wonder what appealed to me at the time. What caught my eye. I think I’ve seen some sort of shot before and there is this flash of recognition and I try to record the image I have seen in my head.
It maybe the lines in the shot the way the windows and the wooden doors contrast with the brickwork. Or maybe it’s a kind of symmetry my mind eye sees…I’ve no idea what it is this shot it just appeals to me.

One of many thousands of cairns you can use to help find your way or note a summit while walking in the hills in Norway.
