This is my niece by marriage Alice. She got married 3 weeks ago. I took my Q2M along and didn’t get in the way of the official photographer. But I bet my Black and whites were better…ps only joking

This week has seen some very heavy rainfall. A local town near where I live received 82mm in 90 mins. That’s a Norwegian record.
Luckily for the first week of our 4 weeks holidays I’m at home. What to do in the rain? Have fun with my weather sealed camera, and getting to know my new photo editing software have been high on my list the past few days.
Take care.

Meet Niklas, I’ve taken some shots of him before a fair while ago now. We got talking about photography in general and I couldn’t resist asking if I could take a picture of him with my new Q2M. I cropped it to remove the ear defenders he was wearing because they had lots of distracting text on them.I then printed it out at home and gave him a copy the next day.
It’s great in this digital age what a reaction you get when you present someone with a real picture not shown on a screen, or shared on some platform or other. Try going a little “Old school” and see for yourselves.

Emily was on her way to a christening last Sunday. She was wearing a festdrakt which is a national costume-like dress. I just had to take a couple of shots before she left the house. I processed them in Capture One software as I am thinking of jumping ship from LR. I must admit I’m impressed so far.

After I came out of the exhibition I was stood waiting for my wife when I eye fell on these two ladies having a chin-wag. I took a couple of shots and didn’t think any more about then until I got home. I took the shot at f/1.4 the picture takes on a magic quality in my eyes. But I’ll leave that to you to decide dear reader

With lockdown easing here in Norway it was possible to attend an exhibition of treasures loaned to a local gallery by the closed National Gallery. There were some real Norwegian treasures to look at. A great day out.

PP in Capture One (Yes. I’m trying out new Software. I’ve always missed Aperture and never felt totally at home in LR). Why did Apple give up on it? So, Tim Cooke when you read this, as I’m sure you do each week you will know my pain 😊

This is another of my very early morning shots of the artwork which is to be found on my way to work.

This is one of two matching sculptures which stand on each side of the river. They emanate angelic sounds like a choir singing even at this early hour (04:30am) of the morning. In the fog it seems very alien.
