Between 1892 and 1923, the Low Moor Iron Company hauled iron ore, taken from nearby mines to area furnaces, by railroad. Hundreds of people lived at the site and worked the nearby mines. Offering a wheelchair accessible trail that winds through woods and across wetlands, Fenwick Mines is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon … especially when arriving by motorcycle!

At Arlington National Cemetery, a U.S. military cemetery across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the Honor Guard pays tribute at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Fujifilm X100T – Time Exposure – 58 seconds @ f/16 – ISO 200
For this image I used a Hoya ND400 (9 stop) neutral density filter and also used the 3 stop internal filter in camera for a total of 12 stops exposure reduction. It was quite windy and the bay was white cap choppy so I thought a time exposure would make a better image and smooth the water to a glass like state.

Tourists get a nice surprise hello from a local at the Venice Beach Skatepark. Despite being scared a couple managed to get their cell phones up for a “high quality” pic, at least I didn’t see an iPad photographer.
