This small flock of flamingos is part of the most northern flamingo colony. Yes, you read right, these are free birds. Their ancestors escaped from captivity. 4 kinds of flamingos are living together in western Germany. In fall, they migrate first to Belgium, and when it becomes colder, they head south with the final destination in southern France and Spain.
