The Shinto Shrine In Brooklyn

I have been intrigued with Japanese Gardens and now convinced that I will create one, of course in a much smaller scale, on one side of our home. This Shinto Shrine can be seen overlooking the beautifully landscaped Japanese Hill and Pond Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Constructed a century ago way back in 1914, it happens to be the first Japanese Garden to be created in an American public space.

This is a wonderful image AJ I love the composition ๐Ÿ™‚ The Japanese Gardens in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens really is a gorgeous place to sit and contemplate on a beautiful day. Its hard to imagine so much beauty in the BBG and prospect Park in the middle of a busy borough like Brooklyn. Awesome work.

If not for my research on Japanese Garden design I likely might have never gone into the BBG due to my dislike of traffic but it really is worth the while. It truly is a wonderful oasis in the midst of a concrete jungle.

Thank you Mitchell. Even being in Nassau, Long Island, it feels like a trek to get here owing to the traffic but it is well worth the effort.
