Early morning breakfast on US Route 50 in blissful ignorance of its fame as the Loneliest Road in America.

This is the Border Inn, where accommodation is in Utah while the bar and slots are in Nevada!

  1. When I was a child, I often thought landscapes like this were so terribly dull and uninteresting – constantly asking my parents “are we there yet?” while burying my face in one of my favorite books. Of course, as I grew up, the moments I could care less about suddenly became interesting and desirable! Now, I absolutely love these locations; you captured a fantastic scene. Fantastic image Patti! πŸ™‚

  2. Love the composition, with the hint of the gas station. Seems to be a desolate area, and makes me think of the hardships being a trucker must entail. I have always imagined it to be a lonely life – the same emotion conjured by the photo.

  3. Oh NOW I’ve going to have to do some research on Rt 50! How cool that different laws / ordinances affect this business … and what a contrast! Excellent!
