  1. I have to agree with Pauline with a few added elements. Being a “photographer”, I first noticed the lighting. Then the hats, the beard, the shared moment, then the bridge. Only when I went back a second time did I notice the weight. So you will understand when I say that I hope this is you and the missus in 20 years.!

  2. You have a real ability with your people pictures Joe – it seems to me you capture something special with each shot that I have seen. There is so much there, I look and I wonder and I think about their possible stories 🙂

    1. What a nice thing to say Pauline and I thank you very much. I was so afraid of posting this shot for fear that someone would think I was trying to make fun of their weight or something like that but your comment puts me at ease now. You “get it”. I just thought it was nice to see a couple that enjoy the same thing and I was also wondering about those possible stories that you have mentioned. Have a wonderful day 🙂

      1. The first thing I noticed is what seems to be a silent shared pleasure – and I wondered how many years they had been fishing together – then I noticed the bridge in the background and wondered about the urban area – then I noticed the weight.

I always think when folk are judgmental, it says more about them than the thing they are judging 🙂

  3. This photo warms my heart. I hope me and my dear man will be fishing together like that when we grow old. 🙂 We need to learn to first though. A really wonderful capture of life Joe! The morning light is so beautiful and the Captree bridge (I hope I remember the name right) looks lovely in the background.

    1. You are right on the money with the bridge name and I thought for sure you would say “theres that damn bridge again”, LOL. I’m not much of a fisherman myself but I’m sure my wife wishes I was. It would sure be a cheaper hobby that photography and cameras 🙂 Thank you for your wonderful comment and have a great evening Elina 🙂

    1. Thank you very much Stacy 🙂 I was sitting in my car trying not to draw attention to the fact that I was photographing them with a telephoto lens. It was early in the morning so the angle of the sun was low and illuminated their faces to my satisfaction. Have a great day 🙂
