Let’s get this out of the way to start with. I have said that I am not a landscape photographer. But just occasionally I take one that makes contact with my “photographic eye.” You know the one. It’s the one you downloaded to your computer and have overlooked until you were looking for something else, and you see this one shot that was right under your nose. This shot for me was one of those.

Meet my son. Unlike me he is a professional cameraman. I took this last Thursday evening at an event we attended together. I took along my new camera I liked this straight shot of him so much I decided to share it with you.

Swimming Pool and Pyramiden

Well last time I showed you the inside of the pool. Here’s a shot from the outside. A more desolate spot for a swimming pool you would have to search a long time for. The mountain in the background gives (no surprise here) the name to the township. Pyramiden.

Hi Everyone.

I hope you all made it safe and sound into the new year. My first shot this year is from the derelict kitchen at Pyramiden on Svalbard. The broken tile motif kind of fits the dereliction in my mind.

I should really have started this small series from Svalbard with this shot it’s the sign at the entrance to Pyramiden with the mountain that gives the place its name in the background.

Just to show that there is in fact some life here at Pyramiden there is some restoration work going on. This old Russian truck was parked outside the canteen block and looked drivable. The mountain that gives this place its name can be seen in the background.
