One of the wild, but friendly, burros in the Black Hills of South Dakota. On a hot day, you find shade where you can.

Somewhere In Wisconsin

I encountered this church along a quiet, Wisconsin back road. It seemed so forlorn and abandoned, looking for a new congregation.

As the weather warms and the rain falls, the pussy willows are making the transition from fuzzy buds to leaves. I was able to save these two small branches for indoor photography. They were very cooperative models.

Simple Pleasures
Black And White Photography, David Jensen, Photography
Spring brings certain simple pleasures along with the warming weather. One of my favorites is the emergence of the pussy willows. There is that brief period when they break open to expose the little fuzzy precursor to the actual leaf. When harvested in this state and kept dry, they will last for months. However, if you add water to the container they will continue their natural path to leafing out.
