After a great weekend of street shooting of with fellow Monochromia Contributors Laurie Buchwald, Robyn Graham, Stacy Patterson Fischer and Patti Fogerty I saw this playful little girl waiting in front of Madison Square Garden and had to grab an image. October 16th 2016.

Another first picture with my Nikon F…I have a lot to learn…And I have to buy a good scanner to scan my pictures…I lost a lot of quality !
That´s right…My pictures are melancholics…I realize this and take it as a compliment 🙂 The shootings are often crazy und funny…This day, I put a bit of water on her face…she took the pose…but…as soon as the picture was made, it was a water war !! And my 2 daugters and I were totally wet…
Fortunately, the reality backstage is really different of the photo result.

The day I took this photograph, the sun was shining…but I worked on this image and added a lot of melancholy and fog that was inside me…

Fuji X100T – 1/13 @ f/2.8 – ISO 200

My name is Ingrid and I was born in Auvergne, France. I have lived in Munich since 2010…A place where I feel happiest with my husband and two girls.
I received my first camera as I was 12 years old …But the real spark was in 2006… when I become a mother. My children gave me a new way to see my life, people and things around me. My gaze was becoming at the same time delicate and strong.
The light and the composition is very more important in my photographs. I try to show some melancholy, like an “happy sadness” in shapes and shadows. In my opinion black and white images are the best way to express those feelings ! A lot of photographers are inspirational to me but Vivian Maier is my reference.
I hope I could share with you some emotions…
I call this pictures “Un matin”
