Gone

I photographed this one a couple years ago and recently returned to find it had been burned to the ground. It is becoming common for people to seek out these old structures and torch them, which is unfortunate, and dangerous. If this was in a dry time of the year, the fire could easily have spread.

It’s been there some time now.

A comment on my last post here about nature taking over made me think of this shot. The Silver Birch in some areas is know as the weed of the woods because it grows so fast. As you can see the car seems to be pleading for it’s removal.

This MG Magnette has, lets face it, seen better days. It’s one of many other vehicles at a “scrapyard that time forgot” just over the Norwegian boarder in Sweden. The place has become very popular with photographers from all over the world, so if you want the place to yourself you have to get there early. By the time I left there were at least a bus full of people there. Some come for the nostalgia others to take pictures. It’s a great place to spend a Saturday morning.

If You Go Down To The Woods Today…

These two Chevys reside at the edge of the woods on my Brother-in-Laws farm. They are restoration projects waiting to happen . No doubt they will get  the treatment they deserve soon as he is in the process of building a gas station with period pieces on a plot by the outbuildings. I hope he completes it at some point. It would be a shame to see these vehicles go to waste.
