re-enlighting the flame!

Andre, Black And White Photography, Photography

Saturday evening, I came back from Barcelona. I was there to see and photograph the Total Solar Eclipse. The first time I experienced a Solar Eclipse was back in 1999. Since 2011, I have photographed partial solar eclipses a few times, but never before a total one. As this one was reachable for me in terms of distance, costs, and planning effort, as I knew the town from a former visit, I started planning right after I got aware of this event about 2 years ago. As the possible flights demanded that I stay a bit longer than initially planned, I used to opportunty to write to two of our fellow Monochromia members about using the opportunity to meet in the city as they are based in Barcelona. And fortunately, the accepted.

I had a fantastic morning together with two absolutely wonderful people (Grร cies de nou a tots dos!), visiting the former Olympic Park above the city. For that event, I set the stand of the Olympic Flame of the 1992 Olympic Games high above the Olympic stadium on fire again.

More of my images can be seen on my own blog.
