“I’m a lonely lighthouse, not a ship out in the night
I’m watching the sea
She’s come halfway round the world to see the light
And to stay away from me.”

This looks a lot like a lighthouse I saw on a tiny island in southern Maine two years ago.

Hi Steve, Well, the Nubble is quite famous and one of the most photographed in the country. It’s in York Beach, ME. In fact, I think I remember you posting about it, perhaps?

No wonder it looked familiar! I hadn’t read your tags at the end of the post and thought you were showing a lighthouse in California. Although I did take a few pictures of the Nubble Lighthouse for reference, I didn’t show any on my blog.

This image was made a number of years ago on a visit, but I spent some summers there as a teenager.
