I spent last weekend bobbing up and down in a sail boat between Norway and Sweden. This lighthouse is a well know landmark in the mouth of Oslo fjord. Every year there is a race from Oslo to sail around it and back to Horten.I thought it looked quite dramatic with the rain clouds behind it while we were sailing in perfect sunshine.

Dramatic land & seascape composition, very nice!

David, this is such a great shot, and I enjoyed your responses to Joe and Jane.
So much to love here: the light on the lighthouse, the clouds … and I like the movement of the water

Thanks LB. It’s always nice to know my work is appreciated. I just wish I had more time.

Hi David, This is a very pleasing composition- I realized that it was divided into thirds horizontally– maybe that’s why it struck me as quite balanced. Terrific image.

Thanks Jane,
The photo is cropped using a thirds grid you’ll notice the lighthouse itself is on a third too. Thanks for your kind words :0)

Excellent image David π I’m amazed that the image is so crisp being you were on a boat. I love the dramatic sky. Wonderful work.

Thanks Joe. I didn’t say that I filled half a memory card timing the swell. Even then I used a little ant-shake filter in PS
