Built in 1903 this New York City landmark with its 44 platforms on 49 acres of underground is the largest of its kind in the world. Here my wide angle lens being put to the test capturing its cavernous Main Concourse, the center of Grand Central, at 275 feet in length a 120 feet wide and 125 feet high and is reportedly visited by 20 million plus people every year.

Geez, I was just there a month ago and did not give this gorgeous building near the justice that you did

Thank you. This was shot with a Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 on my Nikon D7000 APSC so technically a 12mm equivalent in full frame format. I also use a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6, again APSC, I do not own anything wider than a 24mm Nikon f/2.8 in full frame unfortunately but all three lenses are pretty decent.

Awesome image AJ I love the partial fisheye effect π Grand Central Terminal is one of my favorite places in NYC. It reminds me of what it must have been like for travelers back in the day of golden age of railroad. Wonderful work.

Thank you Joe, I’ve been meaning to walk in there with a tripod but yet to do so π

It’s a good thing you didn’t bring a tripod AJ because they don’t allow them in Grand Central Terminal.

That is good to know! What about a monopod feet?
.. I’ve always wanted to see if that might pass the security test!

I think you have to get pre approved for any sort of camera support in GCT. I don’t know where you would inquire. I know in Washington DC they have a permit office to apply for a tripod permit.
