Two weeks ago, when I posted some graffiti in black and white, Joe Giordano commented that he thought it was a “Bold move to display this artwork in B&W but it really works.” Well, I think this piece works even better. In black and white, the artistry is even more obvious. You’re struck by the talent of the artist rather than just the colors. You can more appreciate the texture of the surface these artists deal with. What do you think?

Emilio, it actually looks like it should be in the black & white. The artistry is incredible!

This is stunning Emilio. I think that the colours might have been distracting and it is far more dramatic in monochrome. Love this

Thanks, Raewyn. I love both versions and think I have grown very fond of this woman. I wonder if she was fashioned after someone real. If so, Lynn might get jealous.

I agree completely, you can feel what the piece is saying.

Very peaceful, with her closed eyes and expression.

Doesn’t look like graffiti to me! It’s amazing.

I agree, carolyn. Graffiti like this needs a new name.

Great! As you say, colour often distracts, and we don’t appreciate the detail….

Thanks, Sue. I still love color, too, though! 🙂

I like it! However, I’m partial to Black and White; you get to see it in a different light / from a different perspective.
