Celebration by Gary Lee Price in Decatur, Georgia
In the words of the artist:
“To be able to fly is so symbolic of freedom and possibilities; and flying around a sphere, to me, represents the joy we experience in this life, and in the sphere of worlds to come!”

Not just a pretty photograph — flying was always my childhood dream and it pretty much looked like the sculpture. Love the way you’ve spotlighted the focus. Just so lovely, Laurie.

Thank you, Mary. Wouldn’t it be amazing to soar like a bird?

Worlds to come? That’s an interesting idea. In our dreams? Afterlife? Where no man has gone before? hmmmmm, I wonder where he was thinking. I do like the premise and composition a lot. I think I remember flying in my dreams more often as a child than a grown-up. Too many worries now I suppose. ❤ xo K

Thanks for visiting over on this blog, K. I, too, like the sculptors premise. Every time I see birds soaring, I envy them the joy that I imagine it must be.

Stacy, thank you. It was such a bright, bright day, and I had to work a bit to reveal the detail.

Thanks, Joe. Atlanta has such a neat public art scene, and I loved the artists words.
