Not a fight, but she is quite intensely in thought isn’t she?

Robyn, this is a truly great photograph. I use the photographs of Monochromia for my morning prompt to get my writing going. I usually don’t publish any of the prompts. It’s just a starter exercise to get me in writer mode. This one I have used three times. I love that there are so many characters on this street from whose perspective I can write. I always love your work but this one truly is a gem.

This was yesterday’s response:
She puffed away at her cigarette. When she wasn’t sure of something, she had a cigarette. It seemed the best thing to do. So was she going to accept Josh’s proposal? She’d been dating him for six months. He’d gotten way too serious way too soon. And there was that other problem. He was allergic to cats. She would never have another cat again. She loved cats.

You can definitely sense some anger there. 🙂 I love how you’ve captured this street scene Robyn, so many wonderful details. 🙂

I looks like it was a fight Robyn (there is also the possibility she might have just had sex with the gentleman walking away, LOL). Great candid shot and I love it.

Oh my gosh Joe you make me laugh! The two people didn’t interact at all and perhaps didn’t even notice one another. But I loved how the shot could be interpreted to have many meanings! The beauty of street photography!

Rajiv – good guess, but I don’t think so. The timing of the shot certainly lends one to think there might have been an argument but when observing the situation prior to shooting it they two didn’t interact – I don’t even think they noticed one another.

Yeah…then, she’s in deep thought….

Obviously giving deep thought as to whether this is the day she gives up smoking.
