The beginning of March brought a trip to southern California and a return to Santa Monica Pier. Arguably cooler than my summer trip, hardy souls still populated the beach while others were content to simply enjoy the scenery and storm-like clouds from afar.

Je ne comprend pas, Laurent. Je parle francais un peu. Google translate gives “They don’t have cold in their eyes.” Perhaps you mean they don’t see the cold 😉 Merci beaucoup!

The clouds complete this image for me. They add a wonderful element to the frame. I think with a flat, non textural sky – it would still be nice, but not as dynamic. Very good photo, Stacy!

Thanks, Mike. The skies the first two days I was in L.A. were absolutely jaw-droppingingly amazing. So much drama and texture, like nothing I had ever really seen before. They certainly made for fantastic photo opportunities!

I do like the way the tones and structures in the waves partly match those in the clouds; for me it pulls the whole picture together .
Very nice shot Stacy 🙂
