Table For Three ?

Table for 3_72dpi

Whilst having a family dinner on a roof terrace in Union Square, San Francisco, this fella landed at the table next to us.
It was as if he was flying past, spotted a couple of friends and just stopped for a chat.
I think the couple thought that me taking this photograph was stranger than them having dinner with a gull.

I often get asked “Why do you always have a camera with you?”….. and this is why.
You just never know what will happen when you’re out and about.

I’m Rico Rodriguez and I’m a keen photographer. It’s a passion I developed 12 years ago when we were expecting my son and felt it was time to get a decent camera. I caught the bug and have never looked back since.

I use Canon and Sony cameras. My photos range from street to portraits, and abstract to still life. I shoot in colour and black and white, it just depends on what works best for the shot. I’m never without a camera as I’ve learned over the years that that some of the best photographic opportunities happen when you least expect them.

As for me, I’m from Glasgow in Scotland and still live there with my family. We now have two kids. My father is Spanish, hence my name. He came to Scotland in the 1960s when he married my Scottish mother and has lived here ever since.

I’m delighted to be invited to contribute to Monochromia and look forward to future posts.
