Fuji X-T1 and XF 10-24 OIS R Lens- 1/400 @ f/8 – ISO 200 – 10mm Focal Length

Last week it was a Ford. This week, a Dodge. I don’t know why I have this fascination with old cars and trucks but I always happen upon them and happen to take a shot. This is with the Fuji X-T1 shot in b & w jpg without Lightroom interference.

Somewhere in Goldfield NV Fuji X-T1 JPEG with in camera B&W Film Simulation
I tend to shoot everything RAW and then use Lightroom and a few other editing programs because I enjoy processing my photos. Meanwhile, my friend Joe would go on and on about how he shoots mostly JPEG and does very little editing because the Fuji’s are just that good. I mean, it was really getting annoying. Like a broken record! So, Sunday I put it to the test. Went out and shot jpeg (but backed up every shot in RAW) and set the in camera film simulation mode to black and white. And you know what?
Of course you do.
The guy was right.
Now, how annoying is that?
And now I’m perplexed. I don’t want to start a new blog, but I do want to feature Fuji jpeg’s on my site. Maybe once a week. The perplexion is that I have no idea what to call this continuing feature. Fuji Friday does not take into account that all posts will be jpeg only. So if anyone has a suggestion, please feel free. I will give you credit on every post, if you like.

Fuji X-T1 and XF 10-24mm R OIS Lens – Time Exposure – 20 Seconds @ f/20
Lee Big Stopper ND Filter – 11.5mm Focal Length
By installing a circular polarizer on the lens before mounting the Lee Seven5 filter system I was able to eliminate the glare on the water so the shadows from the rocks were visible.

“If only meat weren’t so delicious! Sure, meat may pave the way to a heart attack. Yes, factory farms torture animals. Indeed, producing a single hamburger patty requires more water than two weeks of showers. But for those of us who are weak-willed, there’s nothing like a juicy burger.”

On my post The Dark Side, Laurie of Life On The Bike commented: “One of my favorite subjects … the silhouette of a tree.” So, Laurie, this one’s for you!
Late afternoon in the neighborhood known as Little Italy. “Authentic” Italian restaurants line either side of the street. My father lunched at one that stated on the menu it was John Gotti’s favorite restaurant.
High praise, indeed!
“Don’t carry a gun. It’s nice to have them close by, but don’t carry them. You might get arrested.”
