The Best Of Monochromia – Ingrid Dorner – Un Matin

Black And White Photography, Ingrid, Photography

When Ingrid first contacted me to join Monochromia as a Guest Contributor I was totally blown away with the initial image she sent me. It had such “soul” (for lack of a better word) and emotion that I promptly responded to her request with a resounding “YES”. Ingrid is a French photographer who is living in Munich, Germany and I absolutely adore every image she has shared with us. Here is another look at the first image she submitted – Joe

My name is Ingrid and I was born in Auvergne, France. I have lived in Munich since 2010…A place where I feel happiest with my husband and two girls.

I received my first camera as I was 12 years old …But the real spark was in 2006… when I become a mother. My children gave me a new way to see my life, people and things around me. My gaze was becoming at the same time delicate and strong.

The light and the composition is very more important in my photographs. I try to show some melancholy, like an “happy sadness” in shapes and shadows. In my opinion black and white images are the best way to express those feelings !  A lot of photographers are inspirational to me but Vivian Maier is my reference.

I hope I could share with you some emotions…

I call this pictures “Un matin”
