The needle formation in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

On my recent trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota I had the opportunity to go up to the work site at the Crazy Horse Memorial. At this time, the most complete feature of the sculpture is the face. work is on going on the pointing hand and it will be several generations before the memorial is completed. When it is finished, it will stand as the largest sculpture on the planet.
One of the wild, but friendly, burros in the Black Hills of South Dakota. On a hot day, you find shade where you can.

There’s a tradition along the Lakewalk in Duluth where people leave a lock on one of the wooden posts by Lake Superior. And, no, there is no ice on the lake now, this was taken in April.
