Excellent image Alena 👍🏻 There are a few lighthouses where I live on Long Island that are on the national historic register and tourists are allowed to climb to the top. About 14 years ago I climbed the spiral staircase of the Montauk Point lighthouse to the top and I couldn’t believe the gorgeous view of the coastlines of Long Island. I really wish I had brought a camera.
About 3 years ago I climbed the spiral staircase of the Fire Island Lighthouse on a typically hot and humid August day which probably wasn’t one of my best ideas. I had to stop and take 5 to 10 minute breaks about 3 times before I reached the top. It’s a good thing the spiral staircase was wide enough so other people who were younger and in better shape could walk past the steps I decided to use as a seat to rest LOL. Man oh man what a difference a time period of 11 years made. 14 years ago it seemed like my wife and I sprinted to the top of the Montauk Point lighthouse LOL.

Thank you for your story, Joe! It was possible to climb this lighthouse too. It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in Estonia, I believe!
