Cleaning up around the place and happened upon these remains from last year. I thought about rearranging them, but in the end I simply made a couple of exposures which I tried to develop to look like a platinum/palladium print using Snapseed on my iPad.

Excellent image Steven 🙂 I love the choice of toning. Great work.

Thank you, Joe. Regards the toning: from the start I wanted to emulate the tint and long tonal range of a platinum/palladium print reminiscent of some of the old botanical studies I have seen.

Hi. Thanks for sharing a great image. I love the composition with its strong verticals, counter balanced with the diagonal of the plant superimposed over them, the various textures and hues. It possesses a subtle atmospheric disposition that is quite haunting. What lighting did you use initially in the shoot? Happy Photography. Have a wonderful day. Goff.

Thank you for your comment. This is just as I found it, though I was tempted to rearrange things at first. These were some dead plants on the side of a garage and at the time of exposure they were lit by high overcast skylight.

Hi. Thanks. When the photographer’s eye knows that things are right it is always best to leave things as they are. Best Wishes. Goff
