Once, coal miners went down by a special elevator and than brought to their working place by one of these trains.

thanks, Joe. You must not think about the distance to the surface of the earth when being in a mine. It’s no so different to being in the subway station. Expect, it’s probably a bit dirtier 🙂 and less crowded, although all the people crossing a crowded subway station might leave less room than you would have in a mine tunnel.
