A solid northeast wind with all of Lake Superior to gather ahead of the gale means furious waves at the western end of the lake. On Saturday, April 14th, we had such a day and it became a tourist event with all accessible locations crowded with sightseers…and lots of photographers. At one spot there was even surfers.
Canon 5DS, Canon EF 28-135mm, ISO 50, 135mm, f/10, 1/50 sec. Processed through Adobe Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro 2.
More of my work can be seen at my Northern Visions blog.

Beautiful image with lots of impact!

WOW this is an incredible image David 🙂 Its hard to believe that waves of this magnitude could develop in any body of water other than an ocean. Super work.
