Just wandering around the Hotel Del in 99 degree weather. Everyone but me seemed to be out on the beach or in the water. Everyone save for the employees setting up for a wedding.
I got to stay there once. You could barely walk around the bed, it was so tight. And the window overlooked the inner courtyard. The price was about $400 a night. Better find a rich husband 🙂
Love this, Emilio! I’ve always wanted to visit this hotel – first introduced to it in “Some Like it Hot” (yeah, I’m dating myself). I can’t even begin to imagine what having a wedding there might cost. Yikes! Anyway, I digress. Nicely done with the tones – the white chairs really stand out and draw my eye in to the impending ceremony 🙂 Hope things are cooler for you – they’ve cooled off just a bit here in DC, thank goodness.
I was thinking about a night or two with Lynn for our 5th wedding anniversary but it’s over $400 a night for a room that overlooks the inner courtyard and is about the size of a shipboard cabin. The ocean view rooms are over $800 a night . Oh, and I love “Some Like It Hot”. Lynn and I watched it last year but she hated it. I loved it!
Yikes, that’s a whole lotta cash. Maybe you can pitch a tent on the beach instead and just LOOK at the hotel 🙂 Lynn hated it?? Next time you watch it, count me in 👍🏻
Such a beautiful hotel with an interesting history. I would love to have my wedding there, but first let me find a husband 🙂

What a great image of this old hotel Emilio 🙂 99 degrees sounds like a pleasant day to be dressed up in a suit for an outdoor wedding. Awesome work.

I was in shorts and a t-shirt and sweating like a pig. The only way that wedding would be pleasant is if everyone was naked!

Thanks for stopping by, Lori. Yes, it is a beauty, but a little too hot for fun. And I live in the desert! Go figure.

The desert is dry heat or so they say. But hot is hot! We are having hot weather in Portland…not fun at all.
Happy Tuesday!

Portland? OK, what, exactly, do Portlandiers consider hot?

85 with humidity is a killer.

OK, you’re off the hook. I remember 88 with humidity in New York and by the time I got dressed in the morning after a shower, I needed another shower.
