I will chime in with my thoughts. I too like the monochrome image, it seems more cohesive, less busy, our eye is drawn to the lady and her lovely stockings.

I do like the B&W image best. It’s more glimmery for some reason and better balanced. Bad way of explaining it, but…

You’ve explained it perfectly, Lisa. I, too, like the B&W image the best. I had a bit of a problem in post with the color version and describing it (by inference) as not being as balanced hits the nail on the head. I may go back and rework it with fresh eyes…

Lisa, I had a quick glimpse today of my color image on the post and realized that I had uploaded the wrong version – the one that I had gone overboard with on the vignetting, which created that “unbalanced” look you so aptly described. Therein lies the problem with working late into the evening (or I should say early morning) to get something done. Anyhow, I’ve added the “correct” image to the post. Though I still do like the B&W better 🙂

I think Raewyn is correct and I love this image. This is also typical of Greenwich Village style just a tad bit over the top 🙂 Great image.
