Great shot, Cynthia. Were these wild? We’ve come across some and were warned that, when upset, they can kick in any number of directions, not just straight back. So be careful!
Information found on these Burros that reside in Custer State Park, SD: “The park’s donkey squad descends from pack animals once used for treks to the Harney Peak summit. Now naturalized, they often pander for food from park tourists in places like the Wildlife Loop Road, sometimes causing traffic jams. Such is their boldness that they are often referred to as the begging burros.” I agree that with any animal though… They can be unpredictable, but oh so cute!
