I want to get serious for a moment and describe what happened to me over the weekend. We were out taking photos and I found a deserted barn. I went inside and started to set up, checking out angles and lighting and found a spot that was perfect for what I wanted to capture. I brought the camera up to my eye and, at that moment, another photographer entered into my field of vision, started moving objects around to better create his “image”, and completely ignored me. What? Have you no respect for others? Are you so self absorbed that you do not see anybody else? Do you make a habit of walking into someone else’s shot whenever you like? These are rhetorical questions but, people, please be aware of your surroundings. Your photo is no more important than mine and will wait for you. Be respectful of others, be aware of your surroundings. A few weekends ago I was out taking landscape photos and walked towards a deserted house. As I was walking, a car pulled up and I stopped to wait while the woman took a photo with her phone, then waved to me, and backed up her car. I took my few shots from different angles and distances and, when I left, she was down the road a bit waiting for me to finish up. Respect is always reciprocal.

There have been many articles about this recently, Emilio. Especially prevalent in National Parks and iconic spots. I do love your bus image…great textures and light. And no people photo-bombing your shot! 🙂

I’ve often thought I was born a generation or two too late. I was caught opening the car door for my wife and some older man commented on what a gentleman I was. But it’s really that my wife trained me! 🙂

You made me look at my own photo again to see what you are talking about and I see it. Those ultra realistic pencil drawings I’ve seen on the internet lately. I love it. Thanks.

Superb image and processing Emilio 🙂 As far as the subject of rude people goes I can only say one thing. Get used to it. I have come to expect it from people these days. It seems like more of a problem now than when I was younger. I love the Rodney Dangerfield line in Caddyshack – “now I know why tigers eat their young”, too bad humans don’t ! – http://youtu.be/udfhBjR-FtA

If he were a cub, the tiger would probably spit him out. I think next time this happens I will throw a rock at the guy (OK, maybe just a small pebble) and say “Oh, sorry. Did I hit you? I didn’t even see you!” And thanks for that quote. I’d like to use it sometime as a caption to a photo!

Oh, I think they notice. They just don’t care. “I am more important and have to get this shot now so that I have time to take a hundred or so more shots around here and annoy other photographers to show them how much more important I am.”
