“Ocean’s dying, plankton’s dying… it’s people. Soylent Green is made out of people. They’re making our food out of people. Next thing they’ll be breeding us like cattle for food. You’ve gotta tell them. You’ve gotta tell them!”
Quote from the 1973 movie Soylent Green. Sorry for the spoiler but if you haven’t seen this film yet, chances are you never will.
The film, which is closely based upon the 1966 science fiction novel Make Room! Make Room! by Harry Harrison, won the Nebula Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film in 1973.
I have no idea what type of product this particular plant produces but, out in the middle of the desert NE of Las Vegas would be the perfect place to process humans for food when the time comes!

Okay this could definitely be a poster shot for a Sci-Fi thriller, Emilio, and I mean that in a good sense! Very cool starburst effects 🙂

That movie stared Edward G Robinson and Charlston Henston. It was a very disturbing movie. Anyway Nice shot Emilio

Thanks, Phil. Yeah, doing my research, I found out that it was Robinson’s last film, he was almost entirely deaf. and would die of terminal cancer 12 days after completion.

Great photo. Love all the sunbursts. Actually it reminds me of the movie The Lorax by Dr Seuss. Why do I say this? Well I have just watched it. Actually he has some pretty serious messages in his stories. 40 years ahead of the world. 😀

Thanks, Raewyn. I don’t think I have ever read The Lorax but I think the film got terrible reviews.

I quite liked it. By that I mean that there was a serious message to it. I had all the books when I was a child. They are a fun way to teach children to read.

Thanks, Dan. It would be nice for them to update the film as it seems even more relevant now with GMO foods and all the starvation world-wide.

I loved it when I first saw it but I was a kid. I just recently watched it again and it is so over-acted with Charlton Heston in the lead!

This one was actually a gypsum plant, I think. Or that’s what they want you to believe.
