Black And White Photography, Charly, Photography

I have been following Charly’s photoblog since I have joined the WordPress family so I am very pleased to introduce him to those of you that are not familiar with his wonderful work.

Hello, my name is Charly and I was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1956. Currently I live in El Masnou, near Barcelona, located by the Mediterranean Sea.

When I was twelve, somebody gave me a Kodak Brownie Fiesta’s camera, and immediately photography fascinated me. As soon as I made some money, I bought a 35mm SLR, Petri brand, and since then, I have gone through medium format, large format camera, black and white laboratory, and currently undergoing a hard adaptation process to digital photography. Now I’m using a Nikon D600.

For me photography is a passion, I need to take pictures constantly, but I cannot explain why. I like precision and seek the highest quality in my power. I print my pictures 40×60 cm, and I make my own photographic paper.

Truly you and I share a passion. For me one of the most interesting things about photography is its resemblance to a martial art, perfection is never achieved, we must always learn and improve, we never know enough. Photography is wonderful!

Philosophically you might be right, that photography resembles a martial art. But if I never achieve perfection I’m going to drive my wife crazy with my complaining!

I’m a little late to this party, Charly, but welcome to Monochromia! Your photo is just superb – I can hear the surf crashing, feel the drops of water against my face. I want to stand on those rocks and continue to take it all in!

As the price of large paper is very high’ve developed a way to plaster watercolor paper with good results. If you are interested I have no objection to doing public.
Thank you very much for your comment and have a good day.
