A while back I showed you all a view of the Mongkok area of Kowloon. This is another view of that same area. The urban decay here is immense as is the congestion. I’m sure one day this will all disappear, which might be good for some and rather unfortunate for others. The real estate prices even for these current buildings is out of reach for most.

Oh, my, I truly lead such a sheltered and comfortable life. I thought for certain when I saw the photos that these buildings were abandoned. A great shot, Mike, with raw emotional power.

Yesh, that’s raw. Looks like a scene out of some apocalypse movie and Will Smith will appear on that decaying roof with his dog (I am Legend). It’s definitely not the typical Hong Kong ad photo they like us westerners to associate the city with. But I suppose that’d be true for any cit wanting to market itself as a destination.

A photo from another world, from another planet, somewhere far away, where time and space is taking its last breaths, apocalyptic, Soylent Green, the last humans are hiding from the subterranean morlocks. Like Joe said “The angle you took this image from it intensifies” the scene, it is fascinating and frightening. Unbelievable for me, not for those who live there. This is all I can say, this is what I spontaneous thought . Great .

As I made my way up the small stairwell to the roof of this building, I peeked inside a couple of units and was really amazed by how small some actually were. I would think somewhere in the range of 150 – 250 square feet. From a photographers perspective, this is very interesting – but for those who live here everyday, maybe not so much. Cheers.
