We met this little mouse in an abandoned building. Three photographers trying to capture a photo of a tiny mouse that was running around the room was a wonderfully joyful moment. I think it was the only time we were laughing and having real fun during our visit to those abandoned homes that have been left behind and are falling apart, no-one taking care of them anymore.

Still one of my favorites, cause mice are so beautiful little creatures.

Such a great catch Elina, almost a wildlife portrait and, as you say, how much fun to find life scampering about in such a place. The mouse I could cope with but a rat . . . not so sure!

Great shot, Elina! and I have to confess that I chuckled as I read through the comments: I’m not sure I’ve heard so many positive comments about a mouse before! So many are frightened of them!

True it seems photographers love mice. π But this mouse is such a cutie so how can one be frightened. Thank you for a lovely comment Laurie! π

Excellent, Elina! I always fail at capturing small creatures like this! I’m amazed at how calm it looks and that you managed to get such a clean photo. Love the back story too, and can imagine you all running around trying to get a shot! π

Walking around in the abandoned buildings with broken windows, full of graffiti and dirt, and some things that must have just stayed there for ages was quite shocking and left us speechless. Seeing this little mouse cheered us all up and offered a joyful moment. π Thank you so much for your kind words Stacy!

Love the look in his eyes. I wonder can we class the buildings as abandoned if nature and wildlife is reclaiming it.
