When playing with the remnants of my holiday bouquet it didn’t appeal to me to simply photograph dead flowers, so I employed the double exposure function on my Nikon D810. I used various manual settings to adjust the exposure for the effect I wanted. I then converted the image to black and white using Topaz Labs. What do you think? I like the effect of the pine cone hiding behind a sheer screen and the added texture of the Lily leaf adds another dimension – almost making it abstract.
On a separate note, for those of you who truly love black and white photography I highly recommend subscribing to the on-line magazine – BWGallerist. I think you’ll find the articles both interesting and inspiring.
Happy New Year!

Thank so much Patti! I love the words you chose to describe the image…the mirror my emotions with it. XO

White lily leaf and pine cone is exquisite, Robyn. Ethereal, almost magical and mystical. Beautiful.

Sue calls it dreamy. I call it rather eerie. I mean, I love it. But it reminds me of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers! In a good way! 🙂
