The last Sunday in September and here, out at Coney Island, fishermen throw their lines while others sit back and take in the Sunday sun. I took out my iPhone. Autumn seems so far away.
Patti, so much to see in this wonderful photo. Gorgeous light and shadows, delicate fishing rod, wispy clouds, striking silhouettes, and that single sailboat off to the left – every single inch of this photo speaks late summer. And I love how you have processed it!
Beautiful example of “the best camera is the one you have with you” Patti. I haven’t been to Coney Island in at least 30 years, I bet it has changed a lot. Wonderful job on this photo Patti 🙂
Joe, you should go out there and have a look. Yes, it has changed a lot and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The beautiful sunshine, not too hot, helped enormously in bringing out a decent crowd happy making the most of it.
As for using the phone, well, I did have my DSLR with me, took oodles of shots which are still sitting on the SD card in the camera . . . it was getting late by the time I came home and I still had this post in front of me to do. Having said all that, I am using my phone camera more and more these days.
Patti .I love the contre jour effect in this shot.

This is a lovely photo. It entices me to be right there, soaking up the sun while I soak a worm.

Something very relaxing about watching other people fish, thank you BikerChick! Are you by any chance a dab hand at soaking the worms?

My fishing days are here and there (non-existent this past year), but I do love to sit and watch a bobber float across the water.
