“Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it!” ~~ (Wrongfully) Attributed to Mark Twain
So who is the great thinker who designed an outdoor shopping/ restaurant center in the middle of Las Vegas, with little to no shade, knowing the temperature exceeds 100 degrees during the summer months? My wife would reply, “it was a man, of course!”
Of course!

Great shot.
I guess even shade wouldn’t help much in those temperatures.
I reckon they do this to torture the smokers, by the way!

Very nice setting. It’s great that nobody is in this shot and to me it’s very inviting – I love the heat, the hotter the better.

Thank you, Mark! You’re invited to visit any time in August. Temperatures then should be record-breaking this year!

I think it would be quite pleasant to sit at one of these tables with a bottle of wine, two glasses and someone dear to me…or even a stranger! Lovely!

Better make that a bottle of chilled white wine with the temps, even at night, in the hundreds!

Thanks Laurie! Every time I tried to work on it the textures were overwhelming. I had to keep calming it down. It was looking so over-processed.

All comments on weather aside, this is a great shot! So many variations on B&W and the textures, too. Excellent!

God Bless Las Vegas and the mirages it tries to pull off, where it’s not about the reality but all about the illusion! Great shot Joe, at least it should be ok outside the Casa in the cooler months . . . . you keep cool until then!

You know I mean you Emilio!!! The steamy NYC heat is getting to what’s left of my brain and it’s not right at all!

No better compliment than calling me Joe! As long as you like the photos!
In the cooler months it’s wonderful out here.Sometimes we even get a dusting of snow- though pretty rare. But lately the summer season is getting longer. This year it started in early June with temperatures over 100. And that will last until at least early September.

I don’t know how you survive in such heat, and like Joe said, still manage to take great photos. I think my brain would stop working. 🙂 This is a really great shot Emilio, and wonderful black and white work!

Well, it’s not very difficult surviving in such heat when you only have half a brain! Thanks, Elina!

Thanks, Joe! It was not a pretty site, me trying to take shots as the sweat was dripping into my eyes. But your assumption that the heat does not stop me is not entirely accurate. On the weekends we have definitely stayed close to home, lately. This Sunday was 109 and we were going to drive into the mountains to get away from it. But we just couldn’t!

Outstanding image Emilio 🙂 You raise a valid point with the outdoor dining in 100 degree heat. Most people would say “but it’s dry heat there is no humidity” and my response would be “sticking your head in an oven is dry heat too”, LOL. You are a much better man than me Emilio I could never survive that kind of heat 🙂 The heat does not seem to affect your ability to capture amazing images 🙂
