Great shot, Patti. I like that emotion in your photo very much, because for me it shows a unspectacular scene at the beach. I mean, it’s not always the well shaped silhouette of a surfer which makes a good photo. It’s the daily life as well.
…I guess you are right, that we couldn’t call Coney Island a surfers paradise.
btw, I visited an Harold Feinstein exhibition at the ‘Bros. Lumiere’ in Moscow last year. Wow, I was impressed. What a great work. Coney Island from the 40s to the 90s. http://www.haroldfeinstein.com
Magnificent picture. So much to see on it. I like the couple relationship. 2 children, 2 adults (one reads his newspaper, the second check their email, no one seems to care about the children), two ‘houses’, 2 birds. It is a picture of HCB-‘s spirit. Magnificent.
The people sitting as if there is nothing to fear, or they have not noticed the dark clouds over the sea… One can let the imagination wander while looking at this image. Very well composed.
Thanks. Always something poignant about sea side places out of season yet the pull of the sea never fails to call people just to sit and watch it! Regards Thom.
Patti, this is wonderful and shows the many reasons that we are all drawn to the ocean. The big sky, the water, the people watching. lunch … nice!
